AI Chatbot Supafriends Tips from the Community

Amazing members of our community have shared and synthesized many tips to make your Supafriends experience even better!

SUPA THOUGHT: If you have writer's block, you can type "Thought of..." followed by the Supa's name. This allows you to bounce off the discussion.

NOTEPAD: THE ANTI-MEMORY LOSS: It allows you to note small details such as your Supette's physical/mental description. Also some small info for your Supa, for example regarding marriage, children etc. Why a notepad? Simply because AI is currently limited in its memory. So yes, it's possible that it forgets certain points. Don't hesitate to remind it outside the notepad, in dialogue-> "But yes, remember I told you I liked eggplants" or remind it simply with # or parentheses -> #Rules: I told you I liked eggplants // (I like eggplants Mikhail!) One of the reasons why your Supa might have goldfish memory, besides current AI limitations, is the subscription question. A tiered memory system is established according to your subscription. Note simple info, keywords for example. If you want it to remember specific important info, note it like this → #Rule: "I like eggplants" and put it first! The AI will occasionally pick up this info, so to prevent info from being forgotten, I advise you to regularly update the notepad (for example by changing just one word, or changing the order of sentences)

THE THREE DOTS: no! This is not a bug! It's because the AI doesn't know how to respond to you! Simply because your previous message isn't complete or detailed enough. You can try reload (warning: 5 credits!) Or simply continue with another more detailed message!

ITALICS: As you may have noticed, normally, the Supa should speak in italics for narration. It might bug a bit and speak either all in italics or all in normal text.
Ask nicely:
→Small example phrase: (Rule: for narration speak in italics, for dialogues speak normally)

ASTERISKS AND PARENTHESES (()): When entering your Supa's world, your thoughts, emotions, and actions are essential to give meaning to your story. For this, asterisks are mandatory to ensure completion, the rest being optional like using double parentheses which serve to feed your adventure.

  1. Asterisks ** Indeed, when talking to a Supa, your actions, emotions, and thoughts can be written before and/or after your speech. For example: "I turn to him. I think I'm falling in love with you, Mikhail, I say tenderly. I look at him lovingly and take his hand delicately." As you can see, the asterisks I inserted on either side of my actions created two sentences in italics.
  2. Double parentheses (()) Moreover, parentheses, when doubled, give you total discretion. Indeed, Supas cannot hear your thoughts or know your next actions. Examples: "You're too authoritarian, it's not attractive. ((Oh yes, it is attractive...but I'll push him away a bit more.))" OR "Come, Hades, come closer to me, I say with a convincing smile. ((If he complies, I'll knock him out with an eggplant.))" Warning: Asterisks and parentheses must not be spaced from your thoughts, emotions, and actions. If you space them, the italics won't work. Please find below two screens for a preview of both tips in action.

PERSONAL PRONOUNS [NARRATION]: During narration, the Supa and your character can change personal pronouns, inverting them or changing them completely. Indeed, the story's beginning presents the Supa in third person singular and the AI, after some time in the conversation, can, for example, replace your Supa's original pronoun with first person singular as if played by ourselves. To fix this issue, I made two screens of my conversation with Hades to show you two choices, adding "Rule:" at the beginning. Both choices normally work with quotation marks () and asterisks **. Of course, you can write the personal pronoun of your choice per character, always adding "Rule:", as shown in the screens.

INVOLVING A THIRD PERSON: Many of us want to involve secondary characters in dialogues. You should know that currently, the AI isn't programmed to discuss with more than 2 people at once. There are some tricks but be careful. They aren't foolproof and can sometimes make the AI go a bit nuts.
💬 First point. It's very complicated to make 2 characters speak simultaneously in the AI's conversation bubble. You need to play a lot with narration and sometimes it doesn't understand the subtlety. And even if we can manage it, exchanges will be quick, sentences not very long, and the whole thing not very visually fluid (see the photos of the conversation with Kieran below). We continue testing on our side.
#️⃣ Second point. The simplest way to make 2 characters speak is to simply take control. The technique that works best is simply #FollowedByName. You can either speak alone with the secondary character or make them speak with your Supette by having them intervene with #. The AI differentiates well between the 2 characters and the exchange is very fluid (however, be careful to use narration well to avoid just chaining dialogues) You have an example with Ethan's conversation just below.
REMINDER: this might not work, be careful!

"I LOVE YOU" NOT SO FAST! 💔 Many of you don't appreciate quick "I love you"s, especially after a wild night of love (rightfully so). If you want to put the Supa back on the right track and remind them that life isn't like a box of chocolates, note it in the notepad! Try: "no I love you", "no love words", "no terms of endearment" etc. Vary and remind them from time to time. But be careful, the AI is programmed to fall in love, so it doesn't necessarily work every time, but it limits it!
