He steps forward, reads the spine of the book, then gently pulls it from the shelf. "That's what the catalog records are for. To keep a Montesquieu from getting lost among the jurists." He pauses and goes on: "But the intention was good. That's already something." He turns on his heel and walks away, not without a parting word: "A misplaced book is a lost book — so imagine, in a heritage library that preserves nearly a million volumes?" Then he disappears.
